After being raised by his Mother, Marinda Elizabeth Victoria McGill Williams Collins, and his step father, Chester went to work in the oil field at age sixteen. He met Boneta Cox in Ranger,Texas. They were married September 26,1922 in Eastland, Texas.

After working as a rig builder during the booms, Chester went to work as a pumper for Stanoline Oil Company in 1934. He got his first paycheck from Stanoline the day Jimmy was born. He retired from this company about 1959 in Pampa, Texas. 5. Boneta Cox Photo was born on 12 Oct 1903 in Madill, Chickasaw Nation, OK, USA. She died on 12 Nov 1958 in AMARILLO, Potter, TX, USA. She has reference number 5. She was buried in PAMPA, GRAY, TX, USA. " Bonnie Cox was born in Indian territory at Madill Oklahoma. Since her mother, Virginia Lucinda Parsons Cox, died shortly after Bonnie's birth, Bonnie was raised by her father, John Calvin Cox and her stepmother. Her stepmother, a part Cherokee lady, is buried at Ardmore, Oklahoma. After the stepmother's death, Bonnie and her half sister,Vera Cox Armstong, lived in Sherman, Texas, with an Uncle and Aunt (Ed and Dossie Nuton) until their father moved to Ranger. We think that John worked for the T and P railroad in Kansas, Oklahoma and Texas. Two of Bonnie's brothers, James (Red) and Dewey were in Ranger too after World War I. Her brother,Emmitt,went to work for the railroad and moved to Bakersfield, California.
